PLAY AGUA Social Media Ads

I developed social media ads for our gaming app, PLAY AGUA, focusing on showcasing the app’s diverse game library in a fun and engaging way. The ads were created in 1920×1080 (YouTube) and 1080×1080 (Facebook) formats.

Cascade Lounge Rebrand

Following the successful Cahuilla Ballroom rebranding, I was entrusted with revitalizing another Agua Caliente venue: the Cascade Lounge. My work spanned a range of promotional materials, from posters and lamp post banners to billboards, video promotions, and postcards. A key element of the new Cascade Lounge brand, particularly for its late-night entertainment, Cascade Nights, was a vibrant neon diamond motif. I especially enjoyed incorporating the performing artists into the design, making them appear to emerge from the neon diamond, while the background’s strobe-light effects captured the energetic atmosphere of the live shows.

Luxury Car Promotion

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of serving as the lead graphic designer for one of our high-profile luxury campaigns. While these campaigns are typically initiated by the Creative Manager, the transition to a new Creative Manager presented an opportunity for me to take the lead.

The $326,000 Porsche Giveaway was a comprehensive project that required designing over thirty pieces of collateral, including essential assets for the grand finale display such as oversized cut-out keys, a giant check, custom backdrops, and more. Additionally, I was responsible for producing dynamic video promotions for both outdoor and indoor screens, ensuring seamless integration across all platforms.

Digital Ads

Digital marketing requires adaptability and technical expertise. Resizing ads to fit various platform specifications and creating different file types is crucial to maximize reach. Static ads, though simple, play a vital role when animated or video formats aren’t permitted. Each platform, from Instagram to Google, has unique requirements for formats and file types.

Often, we encounter challenges when working with client-provided assets that aren’t suitable for resizing and reformatting. This necessitates skill in extracting elements from low-quality files and rebuilding them to create high-quality ads. The goal is always to deliver visually compelling content that aligns with client standards.

For this campaign, I created both digital programmatic ads and social media ads from a rastered art file provided by the client.

Monthly Newsletter Eblast

Eblast designed by graphic designer Jessica Mendoza

Designing monthly eblasts for a luxurious cigar lounge is a creative and strategic process. It involves defining the goal, crafting a compelling subject line, designing a visually appealing template, writing engaging content, personalizing the email, optimizing for mobile, testing, proofreading, and scheduling the send. As a digital designer, I enjoy every step of this process.

Spadea Newspaper Spread

As a graphic designer, I specialize in print layout design. I honed my skills during my time at a local newspaper, where I designed spreads and ads for both print and digital publications. These skills seamlessly transitioned into my role as a corporate designer.

One notable project was designing an ad for the local newspaper to promote New Year’s Eve celebrations at three different casinos. I successfully organized complex event information and promotions, resulting in a design that earned a bronze award at the 2023 Addy Awards.

Luxury Cigar Lounge Menu

Menu design by graphic designer Jessica Mendoza

I had the pleasure of designing a menu for a luxurious cigar lounge. Their new VIP room called for a menu that matched its upscale ambiance. Inspired by the stunning blue river table and black and gold accents, I created a design that was both elegant and memorable. The menu’s logo and overall aesthetic were so well-received that they became a part of the venue’s branding, used in future events.

Scope of Work: Design a menu for upscale, exclusive dining event at cigar lounge.
Skills Required: Graphic Design, Print Production

Home Inspection Website

Home Inspection web design by Jessica Mendoza

I developed a mobile-responsive website for a small local home inspection company. Since it was a new business, it was important to focus on our SEO efforts to improve our search engine rankings against more established businesses. I advised the business owner to increase their Google reviews, and together we created posts with helpful home maintenance tips. We used social media to link to these posts and drive more traffic to the website. Additionally, we used plugins like Yoast to identify keywords and enhance our search engine visibility. As a result of our efforts, the company became the top recommended business for home inspectors in its city and ranked in the top three for neighboring cities and regions. Furthermore, the company now has the highest number of five-star reviews compared to its competitors.

Cahuilla Ballroom Logo

As a graphic designer for Agua Caliente Resort Casinos, I was tasked with redesigning the logo and associated materials for the Cahuilla Ballroom, a prestigious 13,000-square-foot venue known for hosting A-list celebrities. I presented three design options, and the Palm Tree Pillar was ultimately chosen as the new logo.

In my first year, this logo design was recognized with a bronze Addy Award in the 2023 Addy Awards.

Email and Printed Newsletters

As a remote Marketing and Administration Specialist for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, I rebranded and restructured the organization to accommodate rapid growth.

I balanced the needs of two distinct audiences: older, traditional donors and younger, sports-oriented families. For donors, I designed print and digital marketing materials emphasizing the growth of Christian ministry through sports. For families, I created modern, competitive branding to attract athletes to sports clubs.
