On-Air Talent & Production

On-Air Talent & Production

My radio career began in my teens at Z1077, a small-market station where I rose from part-time receptionist to Music Director and Morning Show Host. I gained experience in nearly every facet of radio, from on-air content creation and commercial production to traffic management, copywriting, and FCC compliance. I thrived on connecting with listeners through on-the-street interviews and community engagement.

This experience ignited my passion for marketing and audience connection, which naturally transitioned into graphic design.  Both fields require understanding consumer needs and translating them into creative solutions.

During the pandemic, I created and produced an on-air graduation ceremony for the class of 2020, complete with a pre-party featuring senior interviews and guest DJs, and sponsorship packages for local businesses.  The community contributed shout-out messages, and the event (also livestreamed on Facebook) generated revenue and positive publicity for the station, with participation from all three local high schools and a subsequent request from the local college.

I regularly proposed and implemented new ideas at the radio station, and I’m grateful for the owners’ support and the creative freedom they provided.
